Choosing a program

Rowanty offers several different programs, each holding a unique opportunity to provide students with relevant lifelong skills which could potentially lead to a career in their chosen field, or serve as a head start for higher education.

Typically, students will choose a first-level course for their Junior year in high school. Nurse Aide I & II is one year only and is completed at the end of that year. The Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, and Criminal Justice first level courses are year long courses. Auto Body Technology, Carpentry, Electricity, Masonry, and Welding first year courses are one semester courses, known as the cluster courses. Students may choose to take one of these courses the first semester and another the second semester of their Junior year, or they may elect to only take one of these courses for one semester during the year.

All second level courses are year long courses. Students who have previously completed the first level of any cluster program course may elect to take the second level of whichever corresponding course they would like in order to complete the program the following year. Students who have completed the first level Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, or Criminal Justice courses may elect to take the second level of the respective program in order to complete the following year.

Classes are held Monday through Friday. Each first level course is offered in the afternoon and each second level course is offered in the morning. Courses take one half of the student’s day on their daily schedules.
